Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, our technical support team is available to discuss your project with you. Please contact us here.
You will not need to send the oligo to us – please provide us with the oligo sequence, and we will order it from IDT. However, you will need to either ship your antibody to us or ask the manufacturer to send it directly to our facility at the following address:
AlphaThera Inc.

Suite 200
Philadelphia, PA 19104
Antibodies can be shipped according to the vendor’s instructions to:

Please note that we will require an additional 10 µg of antibody for QC purposes.
No. There are no limitations on oligo length.
You can choose from several spacer options, which we can incorporate into the final product. You can view these options here.
We offer a conjugation service for $75 per antibody plus the cost of reagents. Purification (FPLC) is available for $250 per conjugate. Please note that bulk orders may incur an additional charge.
For most subclasses and species of antibody, oYo-Link will result in the conjugation of ~2 labels per antibody; one per heavy chain. For example, ~95% of human IgG and Rabbit IgG will have two labels per antibody. However, there are a few antibodies, such as mouse IgG2b and goat IgG, which may result in slightly less efficient conjugation. In this case, 60 to 80% of the antibody will be labeled with 1 or 2 labels per antibody. View our antibody conjugation efficiency table here for more information.
There are no predefined upper or lower quantity limits for conjugation service, providing flexibility to accommodate a wide range of scale requirements. However, for purification services, the minimum input amount is 25 µg when using oYo-Capture Magnetic Beads and 100 µg when using FPLC purification.
Antibody samples as dilute as 50 µg/mL are accepted.
Purification of conjugates is available for an additional fee, which will be provided upon request.
Two types of purification are available:
1. Purification using oYo-Capture Magnetic Beads for the removal of free oYo-Link, which can help reduce assay background; this requires a minimum of 25 µg of antibody.
2. Size exclusion chromatography; this requires a minimum of 100 µg of antibody.
For extremely sensitive assays requiring the highest purity of conjugated antibodies, FPLC purification is recommended, and if applied, the chromatography data will be included. FPLC purification is available for $250 per conjugate.
Yields of 30-50% of the starting conjugated material can be expected.
Yes we can adjust conditions or purify the 1‑label species if you require it.
The estimated lead time is 2–3 weeks after receipt of all required samples, including your antibodies and the oligo(s) supplied by IDT.
The QC data for antibody conjugation will be provided as an SDS-PAGE Gel of unconjugated and conjugated antibody. Additional QC data can be provided upon request.
